MVCC Champions Business Voice in Policy Decisions
Your voice is needed to shape business policy
July 2, 2025 | Phil Derner
The MVCC Legislative Committee is gaining momentum, expanding our voice, sharpening our focus, and deepening our commitment to advocating for Menifee’s business community.
We’ve built a growing list of legislation we’ve actively weighed in on. You can find the full list of our efforts on the Southwest California Legislative Council (SWCLC) website.
Here are two recent examples:
- After hearing a concern from one of our members about legislation affecting our local school system, we brought Assembly Bill 84 to the Southwest California Legislative Council (SWCLC). There, we joined forces with other local chambers to formally oppose the bill and make our collective voice heard in Sacramento.
- To protect current and future business owners, we launched our own effort to support Assembly Bill 380, which increases penalties for price gouging against businesses during times of disaster.
We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished so far but we know that what got us “here” won’t get us “there.” As Menifee grows, so must our strategy. That’s why we’ll soon be inviting you to a new kind of advocacy event this fall, built around one simple goal: listening to you.
We want to hear your real-world challenges. Click here to tell us what’s making it harder to succeed? What’s threatening your bottom line? What policies, or lack thereof, are standing in your way? Bring your frustrations, your insights, and your ideas. Together, we’ll use them to update our Legislative Platform and shape a more effective, responsive advocacy agenda that we can apply to the local, state, and federal levels.
We’re committed to making sure the laws that impact Menifee businesses actually support Menifee businesses. And with your help, we’ll take that effort to the next level.
